Julian's fifth monster party!

After a long-awaited build-up, the day of Julian's monster was finally here! Julian had the idea ever since he read about Charlie's monster party in "Charlie & Lola," and he wanted to re-create the story faithfully. So, just as Lola mucks up Charlie's party by making pink iced cupcakes instead of green ones, Julian wanted a handful of pinks thrown in with the greens, too. We chose a purple and green theme, and also played monster tag in the back yard, as Charlie did in the story. It was fantastic! A wonderful time was had by all...and it really fit into Julian's vision. Yay!

Julian at Jesse's party

I love Julian's vocabulary. The other day, he said that something was "extraordinary," or he commented that I made him a "tremendously good cave." (We love caves.) We've been busy at home, inviting friends over and keeping active. Today, Julian's bubba and nanna came to his kinder class to share stories about their youth. Nanna Minnie sang "Amour Mon Cher," a French lullaby, and Bubba recited a Yiddish poem. I think Julian was thrilled!
