Hair woes

These two pictures tell a story of turning lemons into lemonade.
Julian for his hair cut tonight. It was long overdue and he knew it. But in the past, the hair cut was just a cool trim, barely getting him out of trouble with his teachers, who threatened to take scissors to his Ramones/ The Strokes rockstar look.
Julian said to the hairdresser, 'I trust you.' And this proved to be a mistake when, 30 minutes later, he was very upset.
It's not a bad hair cut - it's a good hair cut and a definite improvement from this morning - but it's an entirely different, actor-from-Dead-Poets-Society kinda look.
To make himself feel better, Julian went with his dad to his favourite duck restaurant, The Little Hungarian. And when he returned home, the house was in darkness and a paper bag hug on the outside of the front door, with the words Julian's Glamping Experience. Inside the bag was a torch and sweet. Through the door, candles lit the way to my room where a fort was erected, War was playing on the iPhone and a long-desired movie had been downloaded - Now You See Me. Mission: accomplished. We have one happy kid in the house, who was so appreciative to myself and his sister and even kind of likes his haircut now.

Breaking news!

Very important update - last week, Julian received a medal at Taekwondo from the Victorian association. Our club gives one out each term - to the most improved and best attitude. That is Julian!
